How's everybody?

So i need help you guys. I've been in a major photographic slump lately, it isn't even funny how RIDICULOUSLY UNPRODUCTIVE i've been. I've been on three shoots over Christmas - THREE SHOOTS - and i have absolutely NOTHIGN to show for ANY of them.

SO here's what i want you to do. Comment and let me know what you want me to take photos of. It can be anything; an idea, a concept, an item, a person, go crazy. I'll do what i can. I just need to SHOOT. Holy crap.

I'll take note of all the suggestions i can and then i'll be posting them on my photojournal. Sound good?

ETA: So i had a little epiphany after reading all your lovely comments! It seems though that the dA community has not been privy to this photo meme ever, so just as a little preview, here's what the meme ends up looking like when it's done. But i got some really INTERESTING, out-of-the-box suggestions this time around BECAUSE of the lack of expoosure to this meme (seriously, the suggestions are usually so mundane like "your best friend's leg" or "tree roots", i did not expect this overflowing of creative ideas at all! I'm totally psyched!), so i'm really looking forward to working on it now. Thanks everybody, this is going to be extremely fun!

Cleaned up the deviations and stuff! This place is a dump. Life has been all right. Been going through a personal rough patch but lately it's been clearing up I think it comes with playing guidance counselor to your friends. You guys! I love you.

The Office
JIM HALPERT IS A TRAGEDY. Iiiiiii don't understand how a show of its stature can be so nuanced and subtle and just... so unobnoxious in its relationships, unlike anything else on TV! I mean it's like... an actual office. Is that what they were going for!? UH. Also, none of the characters are at all reprehensible, even the annoying ones. It is like Greg Daniels was saying "HEY here's real life, even the people that you think suck don't really suck. Have a nice comedic slice of life social commentary!" Still downloading the 4th season, should be excellence.

It has been an excellent movie season i think! Or i've been easier to please lately. Whatever the case, I have rather liked everything i've seen in the past three months, and that cannot be a bad thing!

Also, nobody draws rippling brawn like these comic book guys, it is actually quite charming in a unique, testosteroney way.

In other news, I saw Iron Man four times and I cannot stop reading (good) Tony/Pepper fanfic. UM. You guys?? Why so much sexual tension can you tone it down please you don't actually end up together you know THANK YOU. I wasn't planning on seeing the Hulk but upon learning that RDJ has a cameo in it now i have to go see it and i'm not so excited except i AM BECAUSE ZOMG SIX AND A HALF MORE SECONDS OF TONY THIS SUMMER??? How could i resist!!!

Also, Speed Racer was lysergic! Whoever did not like it hates fun.

X-FILES 2 TRAILER. VERDICT: LOOKS REALLY GOOD, RESULTED IN TOTAL AND COMPLETE INCOHERENCE. Oh my ged i had to go back and watch the ending of PMP about 67 times in order to get my nerves back, though that makes little sense because that scene makes me all doe-eyed and gooey and nostalgic and i usually end up crying because it's so perfect. Call it an X-Phile tranquilizer.

SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here's something I have wanted to express for some time: I get asked quite a bit why I rarely (if ever) post photos from the cosplay shoots I have with my friends. For the curious, here's my answer. For those who arent, I beg your indulgence.

It's pretty simple, I believe that the cosplayers do most of the work. I'm not actually one to be watching manga or reading anime myself, so my friends are the ones that get interested in their characters and ultimately are the ones that end up organizing the shoots. They're responsible for their costumes, their makeup, their acting, a lot of the time even the art direction. All *I* ever do is show up, make loudmouthed remarks and snap the photo, and they're all sweating to death inside these scorching layers of costume under all this makeup. And i'm dressed in my shorts standing barefoot in the corner scratching my butt. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE to shoot with them, every day we spend together is The Best Day Ever #948,562,486 and counting. And it's not that I don't do ANY work - it's still a team effort - i just believe the bulk of it is on them. The fact that my friends are all EXTREMELY talented cosplayers who make shooting not just a breeze but a barrel-full-of-monkey's worth of eeeexcellent times, it goes without saying that i believe these photos belong largely to them.

(And I'm not saying that ANYONE that photographs cosplayers should think this way, I'm just saying this is the way I operate in the case of me and my friends. I know there are people out there who will deliberately misinterpret this to make me out as the bad guy and all i have to say to them is: YOUR MOM.)

Also, less importantly, there's a certain kind of attention I want to avoid here on deviantart, if you know what I mean. If you like their cosplay, then it's their galleries you want to be visiting, and not mine.

In any case, this isn't to say that i'm NEVER POSTING THEIR PHOTOS EVER WAH WAH WAH. Of course not. I'm very proud of what we produce from our shoots. I do post cosplay photos here every now and then, if anyone's keeping track. It's just not going to become the main attraction here

Anyway! That was lengthy and boring. Hope no one took that the wrong way.

X-Files movie: STILL COMING OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY. I've been staying away from spoilers as best I can but of course there is one or two that manages to leak through despite my inactivity in the community, the most notable of which being the TITLE, which makes me "WANT TO PUKE". Hey guys, were you trying to do something new? As in something not corny and not predictable (ie the last two years of the series)? Well you sure sidestepped that landmine ha ha ha ha ha strained laughter ha!

I have no expectations for this movie. I have absolutely no faith in Chris Carter. I am pretty convinced I will be watching it for the lulz. Which is depressing, because let's face it, I've been waiting for this movie for five years.

Hey you guys, guess what! I got myself a flickr account Do add me up if you have one yourself, I'll be posting a lot more on there than on here because I find it so much less intrusive than DA where everyone constantly gets notified, so I'm less self-conscious about posting. Oh god just what we need more Web 2.0 madness.

The 2nd X-Files movie comes out on my 21st birthday (at least in the United States), so I've been rewatching the series slowly so that by the time it rolls around, I'll be all caught up in the insanity. (I am of course only watching until Requiem - anything past that NEVER HAPPENED. Obviously if this show has taught me anything it is that Denial Is Fun) As of this posting, the last thing I saw was Fearful Symmetry and I feel bad about the dead gorilla

Oh! And I watched a lot of old Mister Rogers/Sesame Street clips tonight on YouTube. Had no inkling as a child that my tv shows would make me cry in about 16 years =

Because I got tagged for this like eighty times! Okay maybe not eighty. The real number's closer to... ten. ......no that's a lie too. It's four. Okay it was TWO TIMES. But anyhoo, I thought I might as well post SOMETHING akin to an intro on my dA journal, and I thought this'd do the job.

6 thrilling facts about me. WOO.

1. My grandmother had 10 kids, and they all averaged about 3 kids each. This is why I have 30+ cousins on my dad's side and I love them all.

2. I was using Photoshop to make fanart before I learned to draw seriously. I mean, I had drawn before but they were more of, uh, complete jokes, and I had never really pursued it as a serious interest until I was 17 years old and I took the painting elective. It didn't take me long to realize it's what I wanted to do and that's why I'm now in art school (And that's why I feel like a Giant Tae next to a lot of my classmates and friends from UPFA: they've all been drawing for YEARS and I only started at the ass-end of highschool. I am not worthy.)
2.5 On a related note, I used to be a Biology student.

3. I am something of a linguistics geek (!!!). I am currently teaching myself Mandarin and Japanese. (though the latter, only recently and I had to stop because it was confusing my Chinese) 大家好!

4. I don't eat real strawberries.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, thanks to *behindinfinity, apparently, NOW I DO. But only with $@^%#846985685367834 grams of cream and sugar on it and under duress.
